The Wheel of Fortune

When the wheel of fortune turns, it puts us into motion

One which without life, wont be given devotion

I found it on my path everywhere I went

or was it following me, as a shadow to my self

The wheel of fortune turns, and the events take place

whichever side we don’t know, we just observe with grace

A sick man enters my life, needing care

and I know the wheel of fortune is watching so I gotta be ware

I pay my dues, I give what I can

I spread some love and the knowledge that they ban

The wheel of fortune turns and the sick man is on his way

but without first giving me a taste of what my shadow has to say

he shows me pain, fear and suffering

trying to test me, of course, that I’ve been expecting

The wheel of fortune turns, and the lessons are fully learnt,

and the eyes in the sky are watching, and know it’s been earnt

———————————-

The shift was made but the wait wont be long

Because in my heart I feel, that the next one will be in the wrong

The wheel of fortune turns, and a young man I meet

Ready to eat the world and have the universe at his feet

So I stand to watch, me? will I dare?

and I know the wheel of fortune is watching so I gotta be ware

I pay my dues, I give what I can

I see with three eyes and try to understand

The wheel of fortune turns the young man is on his way

but without first giving me a taste of what my shadow has to stay

he shows me play, magic and temptation

of what the universe could offer, and put me in contemplation

Look but don’t touch, touch but don’t taste

As this is the game of life why would we drown in haste?

The wheel of fortune turns and the lessons are fully learnt

and the eyes in disguise are watching and know it’s been earnt.
